Firm Background
Our firm was organized in December 1963 and has been serving clients under the name of Harper, Van Scoik & Company, LLP since 1967.

Our professional staff of partners, managers and staff accountants bring their collective knowledge and experience to help our clients with all their accounting needs.

Our firm is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Our practice, policies and operational procedures have been structured to meet the standards of the Division for CPA firms of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and qualified peer reviews are regularly performed. Our firm is a member in good standing of the Private Companies Practice Section and the SEC Practice Section. Firm partners and professional staff serve on the governing boards of the Florida Institute and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as on local chapters of professional accounting organizations and local government committees.

Client Services
The firm segregates its professional services into four broadly defined classes: compliance, business advisory services, computer consulting, and services to the legal profession. Compliance services are those required by taxing authorities, creditors, directors and stockholders. Business advisory services address the needs of management in all business areas to improve operating results and to properly manage resources. Computer consulting services encompass the installation, configuration, chart of accounts setup, financial statement setup, training, and ongoing support. Services to the legal profession provide expert testimony on business or financial matters, eminent domain cases and advisory services on all phases of practice management.
